The Audi A4 has gained modding status as second hand prices have made it more available. With many modifying parts available, the Audi A4 can look excellent in a subtle way. The performance of the A4 needs only a couple of tweaks to make it completely awesome.
It's bigger -- with a longer, wider stance and more passenger room. It's bolder -- with modern architecture that mates a separate identity with inextricable familial links. And it's better -- with a revolutionary continuously variable automatic transmission, a body that is 45 percent stiffer and the next generation four-link front suspension, all telegraphing pure driving pleasure
The 2002 A4 is available in the UK in a choice of two powerplants: a completely new 3.0 liter V6 all-aluminum engine, or the 1.8 T turbocharged four cylinder.
The new 3.0 liter V6 produces 220 horsepower at 6,300 revolutions per minute and a maximum torque of 221 lbs. ft. at just 3,200 rpm. The 3.0 liter is capable of higher maximum rpm, has a longer stroke and delivers 14 percent more horsepower, than the 2.8 liter that it replaces.
On the outside, the new 2002 A4 is 2.3 inches longer overall, and 1.3 inches longer at the wheelbase. It also is 1.3 inches wider and .5 inches taller, resulting in a more athletic stance. Features include in-dash six-disc CD changer and a dual zone automatic climate control system.
